The checkpoint/restart manual describes how to take a checkpoint and how to restart a job. It also contains systems planning information. It is intended for use by programmers and system analysts who are familiar with the information presented in: OS Job Control Language Reference, GC28-6704 OS Data Management Services Guide, GC26-3746 Fifth Edition (February 1972) This publication, a part of OS Release 21, is a revision of, and makes obsolete, the fourth edition (GC28-6708-3) of Advanced Checkpoint/Restart. It applies to all subsequent releases unless otherwise indicated in new editions or technical newsletters. Changes may be made to the information in this manual at any time; before using this publication in connection with the operation of IBM systems, consult the latest SRL Newsletter, GN20-0360, for the editions that are applicable and current.
